Totus Chief Executive Awarded MBE for Services to Building and Fire Safety

The accolade, announced as part of the King’s New Year Honours List 2025, highlights Aman’s dedication to transforming building and fire safety practices across the UK and beyond.

With a comprehensive background in the fire service, Aman is CEO of Totus Digital, a consultancy dedicated to delivering innovative building safety and fire engineering solutions.

In addition to leading Totus Digital, Aman has been instrumental in working alongside central and local government, along with several professional institutions and industry bodies during the development of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021 and a range of associated secondary legislation.

Between 2019 and 2023, Aman served as the Deputy Chair of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee advising the Secretary of State on building regulations and building safety matters. He has led a number of key industry working groups for government, covering subjects such as Approved Document B, higher risk buildings and golden thread.

Aman currently chairs the British Standards Institution (BSI) most senior fire safety committee, overseeing the vast programme of fire safety guidance being produced for industry. 

Speaking about the award, Aman said:

This MBE is a testament to the incredible team I work with and the progress we’ve made together in advancing building and fire safety measures. Whilst there is so much more to do, I wish to express my personal thanks to all those who have advanced building and fire safety standards over the years, as we continue championing this most important agenda."
